Harrison's First Day of CDO!

Harrison's first day of school outfit. So handsome!

Harrison and Charlotte playing trains. They are great friends!

Harrison checking out a little girl who is new to the class this year.

Harrison started back to Children's Day Out (CDO) today! Miss Jessica said he had a great day, full of laughing, playing and even a little dancing!  Trace and I are so thankful for Harrison's CDO teachers who work hard to plan meaningful, fun and safe activities for him!  Posted are a few pictures from his day. Enjoy!

Tuckered-out Toddler

Tonight I went in Harrison's room to check on him just like I always do, and this is how I found him!  He was snoring! Sweet baby must have been exhausted.  I tried to uncover his face but he just covered himself back up.

hmm...

Anyone know how I can get load a picture into the frame on my header? I really like the way the header looks but that frame should be filled! Any advice or tips is greatly appreciated!

Cowboy!

Harrison loves wearing his cowboy boots! They are still 5 sizes to big, but that doesn't stop him from playing  a little golf in the house! I definitely see golf lessons in his future.  Like his outfit? He picked it out himself. Such a proud toddler!

Parenting Solo

This weekend was the first time Trace left me alone overnight with the boys.  I must admit that it was much different! And to be honest, it was tough! I think mostly because Harrison wasn't feeling well so our activities were limited.  I think everyone can agree that a grumpy toddler isn't much fun, bless his sweet heart.  He seems to be feeling better though, just missing daddy. Jackson was great, but it takes more patience to balance two babies on your own.

Even though the weekend was long, and I'm exhausted, I know God was reminding me how blessed I am to have such a helpful husband! I can't imagine parenting without him. Sometimes I know I don't give him enough credit.  He is WONDERFUL and fully understands his role as a parent.  Having him away for the weekend helps me to remember that parenting really is a team effort and two are always better than one.

This weekend was also a good reminder of some advice a friend shared with me at Bible study.  We shouldn't wish time away with our children...."Only 2 more hours til bed time."  I admit that I am guilty of wishing time away when really I should be thankful for every moment I have with my boys.

Greetings Everyone!

It's been awhile since I've had the time to post anything! Life with 2 under 2 is very full as you can imagine.  Trace and I are really enjoying the boys!

Latest & Greatest About Harrison & Jackson

Harrison
Harrison is 20 months old!  He weighs 30 lbs and is getting taller everyday! His talking is really soaring! I'd say he's a chatterbox! Some of his new words are "please" and "thank you." He has discovered that Mommy and Daddy are also called Ash and Trace. Lately he refers to us by our first names, instead of Mommy & Daddy. Little Stinker! Harrison's favorite activities are playing with his trains and cars.  He is what Cici says, "all boy!"

Jackson
Jackson is 11 weeks already! He weighs 12 lbs.  We are proud that he is fattening up nicely! :) We are blessed to have such a great sleeper too! Jackson started sleeping through the night at 8 weeks! He is really an easy baby and enjoys playing in his crib and snuggling. He would let someone hold him all day if possible.

Please stay tuned for more pictures & posts of the boys!

Harrison and cousin Grace

Harrison and cousin Grace had fun playing together at Easter. Grace (Hilary and Bebe's daughter) will be 3 in August and Harrison is 17 months. They were entertaining to say the least!

Hunting eggs together!
Where to look first....
Being silly together.
Harrison did a great job finding eggs.

Trying to get Grace and Harrison to smile and look at the camera at the same time is quite the challenge! They have fun together.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter from the Hights!

Easter was wonderful this year. Harrison started out the morning opening his basket from the Easter Bunny! At first he was a little unsure but he definitely warmed up! After breakfast, we attended church as a family and then went on to Terry and Gayle's for a family lunch.

Harrison's Easter basket

Not sure what to think at first...

He threw out each item one at a time.

Harrison's favorite gift was his new Elmo book.

about 4 weeks until Jackson is here.

Harrison's First Haircut

Harrison recently had his first haircut! As you can see, his hair was a little past the "fratty" stage, so it was definitely time!

Putting on the smock like a big boy!

A picture with Daddy and Clayton, the barber. Clayton has been cutting Trace's hair for years so it was neat to pass it on. By this time, Harrison was a little tired being still.

The after picture! Harrison looks like such a big boy now!

We're Back

The blog is back! The Hight family has been busy with holidays, birthdays, and just life in general! The holidays were great and we were thrilled to spend Christmas morning at home for the first time. It was a truly special morning. Harrison was very interested in his presents and we even had a special family breakfast.

After a lengthy discussion, Harrison decided to let Mommy be in the charge of the blog again. And, he even agreed to share the spotlight with Mommy, Daddy and soon, baby brother, Jackson. How sweet of him!

Below are a few pics of Harrison with Mommy and Daddy.

Here are the latest stats on Harrison
Age 15 months
Length 32 1/2 inches, 90%
Weight 25 lbs, 13 oz, 70%

Favorite foods: milk, bananas, chicken nuggets, cereal bars

Favorite activities: school, playing outside, bath time, legos, reading books, bugging Lily

Harrison and Lily have what you call a "love/hate" relationship! He always loves her, but it's not always mutual. Every once in awhile, Lily actually plays with Harrison! She mostly loves him when drops veggies on the floor for her.

Harrison's personality has really blossomed. He is very loving and gives the best hugs!

Latest on Jackson

Mommy starts the 3rd trimester on Friday! So far, Jackson is developing normally, kicking constantly and making Mommy hungry all the time! The next doctor appointment is March 4. He is due May 22.

Stay tuned for more updates and pictures!
